Communities for Palestinians UK
To welcome Palestinians into our communities to save lives and build a better future for all

A campaign for a community-led welcome for Palestinians
We are a coalition of individuals, community groups and organisations. We are witnessing, with intense alarm, the situation being faced by our many friends, colleagues and relatives in Gaza. We share an urgent and sincere wish to alleviate their suffering and help them recover.
Tragically the ceasefire turned out to be just slower killing with worsening conditions. Nothing is let in to restore homes, health or a future. Moments of hope are quickly snuffed out by renewed bombing and steadily reducing land for the crowded tents.
We know from experience that our communities have the power and passion to welcome people who are fleeing destruction and allow their children to heal and rebuild their lives in safety.
Through this campaign, we are building momentum from the bottom up.

Together, we can demonstrate the power and will of local communities to welcome our global friends and neighbours.
Our Mission
We support Named Community Sponsorship as a pathway for communities to nominate and welcome the refugees they wish to support as they rebuild their lives in safety, dignity, and stability.
Community sponsorship was introduced in 2016, at the time for Syrian. Named Sponsorship is a development that allows communities to name the people they want to welcome and integrate, following the popular Canadian scheme which has been running for 50 years. It is the main way that refugees enter the country.
How Community Sponsorship Works
Named Community Sponsorship places communities at the heart of refugee resettlement. Sponsor groups help secure accommodation, support families as they settle, and assist with access to services, education, and employment.
Community Action
Across the UK, communities seeking to sponsor Palestinian families are preparing for the new scheme by raising funds, identifying accommodation, working with local authorities, and building teams to support families.
They hope the new Named Sponsorship scheme will enable them to welcome and support these families within their communities.
A Day of Compassion and Support
These photos capture moments from a special gathering where people came together to offer support, share progress on sponsoring Gazan families, and hear Leigh Evans - retired nurse from Swansea, Wales - speak about love, courage, his journey on the Flotilla, and what he endured in Israeli prisons. Small moments like these remind us how powerful community can be when we stand together.

Invitation to MPs
An event organised by a coalition of organisations working on Named Community Sponsorship – the new safe and legal pathway for resettling refugees in the UK.
The government has committed to making sponsorship “the primary means by which we resettle refugees”. To discuss what this initiative would look like we're planning a drop-in event for MPs.

Latest Updates in Gaza
Humanitarian conditions in Gaza continue to deteriorate as civilians face ongoing displacement, limited access to essential supplies, and growing public health concerns.
- Areas available for civilian shelter continue to shrink, forcing families into increasingly overcrowded spaces.
- Civilian casualties are reported daily, including attacks affecting tents and temporary shelters housing displaced families.
- Access to food, fuel, and essential supplies remains severely restricted due to ongoing shortages and limited aid entry.
- Rodent and insect infestations have become widespread in displacement camps, driven by overcrowding, inadequate sanitation, and waste accumulation.
- Cases of skin diseases and infectious illnesses continue to rise amid extreme heat, poor sanitation conditions, and shortages of hygiene supplies and medications.
